Make room
for your
next idea.

Not just a weekend of code. A room full of curious people, turning “what if” into “we made it.”

SH Hacks is a 48-hour educational hackathon for students below college level. Join a team of 3–4 in Shanghai or online, and turn an idea into a working prototype during 38 hours of building.

You don’t need a portfolio. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Start with your curiosity; learn the rest together.

Good questions.Let’s get into them.

First hackathon? Start here. All the practical things, before you take the leap.

What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is a time to learn, experiment and create a working project with a team. Build software, an interactive experience or another prototype around an event theme.

Can I join without coding experience?

Yes. Beginners are welcome, and no portfolio is required. Tell us what you want to learn. Junior eligibility is determined separately by age or verified workshop graduation.

What does it cost?

There is a refundable ¥99 deposit per hacker. Collection is currently disabled. Refund terms and payment instructions will be published before any deposit is collected.

What can our project win?

There are nine award categories with 1st–3rd places in each. Projects across the themes and Junior can compete for the grand prize. Prize details and sponsor challenges will be published only when confirmed.

Good ideas. Good company.
